The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is home to some of the most notable communities in the East Bay. Though many members of the Chamber of Commerce belong to a variety of communities along the 580 / 680 corridor, the majority of businesses and Friends of the Chamber are from the unincorporated areas of Blackhawk, Alamo and Diablo as well as the Town of Danville. These communities are an important part of the San Ramon Valley and the greater Tri-Valley region, which has a $42B GDP, according to the most recent study done by the Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group.
Danville
Nestled in the heart of the San Ramon Valley, Danville offers the perfect blend of upscale amenities and small-town charm.

Arts and culture abound at the Village Theater, the Museum of the San Ramon Valley and Tao House – home to America’s only Nobel Prize winning playwright Eugene O’Neill.
One of Danville’s most desirable attributes is its sense of community. The Town of Danville hosts a wide array of events throughout the year, from our Saturday Farmers Market to street fairs and holiday celebrations, in partnership with the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Alamo
The unincorporated community of Alamo is located in between Danville and Walnut Creek, along the 680 corridor. Alamo’s small town feel in the middle of the bustling Bay Area is renowned for its low crime rate and spacious hiking trails and outdoor recreational opportunities. From hiking the rolling hills of Las Trampas Regional Wilderness to the Iron Horse Trail, there is something for everyone.
Shopping in Alamo offers visitors as well as residents the opportunity to shop in areas with beautiful mountain views and specialty stores. The Autos in Alamo Festival which takes place in the fall is a fun-filled event where specialty cars – hot rods, antiques, custom-made and exotic – are on display for the community to enjoy. Wine tasting, live music and raffles are also a mainstay of this event.
Summer concerts in the park also feature some of the area’s most recognize acts.
Diablo
Diablo is a small community adjacent to Mt. Diablo, thus the name. Diablo is known for its country club at its center, but few know the history of this small, bedroom community.
Shortly after the Gold Rush in the late 1800’s, William Cameron was a prominent landowner in the area. The land remained ranchland until it was transformed into a fancy summer resort in 1912 by entrepreneur Robert Noble Burgess. Covering 50,000 acres, it was known as one of the first country clubs in California.
After World War I, Burgess dissolved his company and sold his house, but the legacy and the posh Diablo Country Club live on today.
In 1961, the members bought the Club. It has remained member-owned ever since. Although the Diablo Country Club is no longer the only one of its kind in the valley, its history and sense of community makes it among the most desirable places to live.
Blackhawk
Blackhawk covers nine square miles of land to the east of Danville along Camino Tassajara and is comprised of about 9,300 people. Blackhawk is the home of Blackhawk Plaza, with its expansive water features and art from local artist and nationally renowned sculptor and bronze artist Brian Keith.
The atmosphere at Blackhawk Plaza and the gated community of Blackhawk, one of seven gated communities along Blackhawk Road, attracts business executives, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, media personalities and a wide range of customers and residents.
Blackhawk Plaza is home to the Wheelchair Foundation, which has delivered more than 1.1 million wheelchairs around the world. Blackhawk Museum, part of the Smithsonian, has a collection of antique cars as well as the Spirit of the Old West Museum. In 2019, the Museum opened two new wings – The World of Nature Experience and the Into China Gallery. It is well worth the time to visit these treasures, located just outside the Town of Danville in unincorporated Contra Costa County.
