Youth Mental Health Outreach Initiative

The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce seeks to foster a vibrant, healthy local economy throughout the San Ramon Valley and Tri-Valley region that is diverse, inclusive, innovative, and sustainable.

But to truly be sustainable, our community must also be healthy. Thanks to a commitment by the 2022 Danville Chamber Board of Directors, the process began via two separate funds, managed in partnership with the Three Valleys Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Communications & Outreach

The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Fund, focuses on charitable and educational activities that support the greater good in our community. Among our educational activities was a kick-off event, held on November 2, 2022, at the Blackhawk Country Club.

Our Gala Dinner, Breaking the Silence – Reinforcing Our Commitment to Youth/Mental Health, shined a spotlight on our new youth mental health initiative.

With the help of our Master of Ceremonies, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Chief Paige Meyer, local philanthropist, David Behring, and our Board Chair, Glenn Bittner, the Chamber honored four organizations focused on helping youth in the Danville Area:

Each organization received a complimentary video tribute from the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Fund that they may use to promote their good work.

While our region thrives in a myriad of areas, there are hidden challenges. Addictions – such as social media, drugs and vaping, as well as post-pandemic mental health issues remain, with our youth among the most vulnerable.

In 2023, we are raising funds to continue to promote these efforts in concert with our partners through panel discussions, movie screenings, social media, videography, and other messaging to help our youth throughout the Danville Area and Greater San Ramon Valley.

Grantmaking

Separately, our Youth Mental Health Outreach Initiative, a fiscally sponsored fund also in partnership with the Three Valleys Community Foundation, allows grantmaking to non-profit organizations addressing these local issues in the Danville Area and Greater San Ramon Valley. Grantmaking to non-profits will begin in 2023.

Tax Deductibility

For both Funds, dollars collected are fully tax-deductible, to the extent of the law.
