Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Announces The 47th Lighting of the Old Oak Tree

Snow Angel Celebrates Her 30th Year Visiting the Town of Danville

DANVILLE, CA – The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents, family, and friends to the 47th Annual Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, a traditional holiday favorite, taking place on Friday, November 24, 2023, rain or shine, in Historic Downtown Danville.

The evening program begins at 5:00 PM near the Old Oak Tree on Diablo Road, between West El Pintado and HWY 680. Featured will be holiday favorites with the Danville Girls Chorus followed by the San Ramon Valley High and Monte Vista High School Choirs. At 6:30 PM, we expect a visit from Father Christmas and the Snow Angel, who is now in her 30th year visiting the Town of Danville for this special event.

“We are proud to once again partner with the Town of Danville to offer the community a chance to meet downtown and help us kick-off the Holiday Shopping Season. Chamber Board Chair Rick Shumway, Mayor Robert Storer, Vice Mayor Karen Stepper, and Councilmembers Dave Fong, Newell Arnerich and Renee Morgan will be on hand to offer holiday greetings. Our special guests, Father Christmas and the Snow Angel, will then join us for the official Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, at 6:30 PM.”

Local businesses are already decorating their storefronts. Retail and restaurant owners will be available to help with every gift need and culinary delight. We invite the community enjoy the festivities in Historic Downtown Danville, which include holiday classics by CPC Danville and featured entertainment by Impulse Acapella and the Messiah Lutheran Church Singers.
