The Chamber will be conducting an opportunity drawing – free to the public – for a personally autographed baseball by San Francisco Giants Coach Alyssa Nakken, the first woman to coach full-time in the MLB. In 2022, Nakken became the first woman to coach on the field during a regular season game, serving as the first base coach. During 2022 spring training, Nakken served as the acting bench coach, another MLB first for a woman. The move signified her continued emergence into more prominent roles with the team.
The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce works in partnership with the Town of Danville on several events, including the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, scheduled for Friday, November 24, 2023, in Historic Downtown Danville. Along with its business and economic development efforts, the Chamber has partnered with Three Valleys Community Foundation, creating the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Fund, focused on a Youth Mental Health Outreach Initiative and a Women’s Enterprise Initiative.
