In its ongoing effort to support local businesses, the Town of Danville is again offering Business Promotion Funds for qualified brick and mortar businesses and local business organizations.
Each year during its budget planning cycle, the Town Council appropriates funds for business promotion within Danville. Due to the pandemic, the funding program was placed on hold until events and activities could resume adhering to established safety guidelines.
General Business and Marketing Promotion applications are now being accepted for reimbursable grants of up to $1,500. These funds are intended to be used for purposes deemed to be most advantageous to a broad range of the Danville business community. Historically, grants included marketing support for collaborative events such as the Art and Wine Strolls, Where’s Waldo Scavenger Hunt, etc.
The grants are intended to encourage business collaboration and to support marketing efforts for events, programs and innovative solutions that promote economic commerce among Danville’s businesses. The funds cannot be used for the preparation of specialized studies or reports or to promote specific individual businesses or organizations.
Due to the overwhelming response to the program in previous years, the Town will focus on providing funding for applications:
- Willing to provide matching funds
- Demonstrate creativity and heightened engagement
- Show cooperation among multiple businesses
- Utilize universal technology solutions for unified business promotion
- Stimulate economic development in the Town of Danville
- Promote the “Live Locally” unified branding program
The application process is underway as of October 7, 2021. To review eligibility requirements and program details, visit www.danville.ca.gov/businessfunding. Please note a valid business license with the Town of Danville is required prior to submission, and home-based businesses are not eligible. All applications must be submitted through the Business Promotion Funds Application.
