About

The Health & Wellness Day on the Green is a new opportunity to celebrate Danville’s outstanding quality of life. The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Town of Danville, welcomes the community to enjoy a day of fun and educational programming featuring fitness demos, sports celebrities, and a business showcase of health, wellness, fitness, spa and beauty offerings in our community.

It’s also a great day to “shop local” and enjoy Danville’s famous restaurants in Historic Downtown Danville and nearby at the Danville Livery, Rose Garden Shopping Plaza, Sycamore Square, Iron Horse Plaza, and Tassajara Crossings.

Please take a moment to review our FAQ’s. We are working hard to ensure a fun, safe and organized event that will be enjoyed for years to come.

We can’t wait to see you!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who is invited to the Health & Wellness Day on the Green and is there a fee to attend the event?

The event is open to all in the community at-large and is FREE to the public.

What is the Registration Deadline for Businesses and how do I register?

Businesses are invited to register before October 8, 2023 to secure a space. Priority will be given to businesses and non-profit organizations in the health, wellness, fitness, spa, and beauty categories.

Business registration materials are available at our dedicated page at the following link: https://danvilleareachamber.com/health-wellness-day-on-the-green/

Does the public need to sign up to reserve a space for fitness and recreation demos?

No – however some businesses may advertise their demo times to their members and offer an opportunity to sign up through their particular business.

Are Businesses allowed to sell merchandise on site?

The Town does not allow cash handling as part of any rental event at their facilities, but credit card transactions are allowed as long as you have your own payment processing portal.

Keep in mind that wi-fi at the event site is public and is not secure for credit card transactions and could be spotty at the event site. Because of this, businesses should be prepared with their own connection points.

Will there be Electric Outlets available on site at the Town Green and can we play music at our booths?

To ensure the safety of our guests and any small children attending, we are not allowing electrical in booth spaces. This is a hazard as electrical outlets and cords present a tripping hazard to our guests.

Outlets on each side of the gazebo will only be used by our professional Audio-Visual team for the program and any demos that have been pre-reserved and pre-paid for.

The Chamber will let you know if you have secured a demo spot and the approximate time that demo will be and will do a final confirmation of times on October 12th.

For the enjoyment of the community, we are not allowing music to be played in individual booths as it will distract from our pre-planned entertainment.

Can community patrons bring their own lawn chairs or fold up chairs to enjoy the Next Step Dance performance and any fitness demos that are taking place on site?

Chairs will be allowed, but there is limited space along the Town Green. Tables, booths or anything with stakes are not allowed on the Town Green.

Since the event begins on a fall morning, what arrangements are being made to mitigate overnight irrigation on the Town Green?

Town staff has assured us that the irrigation schedule will be modified and that grass will be as dry as possible for your use during demos.

What time and where will businesses be allowed to unload their tents, tables and promotional materials prior to the event?

We invite businesses to arrive at the site after 9:30 AM to set up their booth space. The event will begin at 11:00 AM with a visit from the Town of Danville’s mascot, Auggie the Acorn. Read more about Auggie on our celebrity page!

Businesses must provide their own 10 X 10 tent, tables and chairs.

Parking will be available at the Village Theatre Municipal Parking Lot on Front Street, the Front Street Municipal Parking Lot, and the Danville Community Center Municipal Parking Lot. There is also plenty of spots available on Railroad Avenue for parking for the public at-large.

Will the Health & Wellness Day on the Green have any street closures?

There will be a small road closure on Front Street between Village Theatre Municipal Parking Lot and the Danville Community Center Municipal Parking Lot from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, to allow for businesses to display and exhibit roadside and for our performance by Next Step Dance Studio. We are very much looking forward to having Next Step back with us again!
