Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Awards 2022 College Scholarships
Six Students Chosen from Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley High Schools
Danville, CA – The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce has awarded six students with 2022 College Scholarships, to support their education.
“The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce College Scholarship Program supports deserving students and is one way we give back to our community’s youth who may be looking for pathways to become entrepreneurs. We believe the future is brighter when we can give students the opportunity to achieve their dreams,” said Darren Matte, Chair of the 2022 Scholarship Program and Board Member of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Scholarships were awarded to three students who recently graduated Monte Vista High School and three students who recently graduated San Ramon Valley High School:
Tessa Brubaker ($2,000) is a graduate of San Ramon Valley High School. She will start at Biola University this fall, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Secondary Education.
Samantha Pederson ($1,000) is a graduate of San Ramon Valley High School. She will start at Boise State this fall, majoring in Criminal Justice.
Katherine Guo ($1,000) is a graduate of Monte Vista High School. She will start at Massachusetts Institute of Technology this fall, majoring in Computer Science with a Management minor.
Layla Turgel-Goldberg ($1,000) is a graduate of Monte Vista High School. She will start at the University of California at Berkeley this fall, majoring in Political Science and Legal Studies.
Lily Steinmetz ($1,000) is a graduate of Monte Vista High School. She will start at the University of Michigan this fall, studying Dentistry and Business Ownership.
Nathaniel (Nate) Ware ($2,000) is a graduate of San Ramon Valley High School. He will start at the University of Oregon this fall, majoring in Sports Business.
The Scholarship Committee for the Chamber includes Darren Matte (Chair), Owner of Danville Harvest and Cocina Hermanas; Rich Wood, Owner of E-Pay Now; Gil Rodrigues, Owner of White Rabbit Business Solutions; and Danville Area Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Judy Lloyd.
